Thank you all for a wonderful season of the Lake Area Community Band. Please be sure to check back throughout the fall and winter months for the locations some small ensembles will be playing during the Christmas season and for updates to the 2009 summer schedule.
The first small ensemble performance of the year is by a brass quintet of band members that will be performing at Courtyard of Goshen Nursing Home on October 16th at 7pm.
We are currently looking for new members to join our group. The current section with the most need is our Saxophones. If you have had any thoughts about getting your instrument out, please come and join us!! All instrumentation is needed! Please email us if you are interested.
This website is dedicated to the Lake Area Community Band. We are a concert band that is based out of Syracuse, Indiana. We perform several concerts a year throughout the region. The group performs traditional concert band music including marches by Sousa and Karl King, among others. We also perform many fan favorite medleys and jazz standards.
We are open to all ages and all skill levels. Rehearsals are Monday nights in the Wawasee Middle School between 7pm-9pm. The band season generally runs from late spring to early fall.
Our Director is Marty Becker and our Assistant Director is Mike Sanders. Click here to learn more about them.

The Lake Area Community Band received a generous matching grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation towards the purchase of a set of timpani. We are grateful to the foundation for its support of local musicians. The timpani are shown here being tuned by Tim Wilson at Greencroft Senior Center on May 3, 2007.
